Jeff, nice work. How did you find the 3D material to work with? Did the paint adhere OK? Would the original model have been easy to sand?

I am asking because I have access to 3D printers and was thinking of using them for this purpose.

The paint adhered fine...but it is course (the material).

I could sand it, bit it is hollow and was worried about the walls getting too thin.

Anyhow, I enjoy working with them in any case.

I would prefer an injection molded plastic kit, or a resin kit...but there simple are none available for some of these ships.

Well, the Russians indicated that they commissioned Gorshkov in Nov 2016. I know they have had a lot of problems with her.

And yes, the spelling is Kasatonov, and I will fix that. But, that ship has been launched and outfited, but I am not sure now whether it has gone to sea at all yet.

The thrid is supposed to be launched this year.

The Russians are having a hard time getting ships out, that is for sure. The Admiral Grigorovich frigates have been somewhat more successful, but without the Ukrainian engines, they are having to sell some of those to INdia too to further enhnce the Talwar class because Ukraine I suppose will sell the engines to the INdians.
