China know Russian are unreliable weapon supplier. And buying Russian weapon as a stop gap only.
Since the last delivery of S-300PMU2, which important complete weapon system has China bought from Russia? Besides some AL-31F engines, nothing new is bought.

If there is one thing worthy to buy. If will be S-400 triumph. But seems so far, China has not make any move for it.
Apparently China was part of the development of the S-400. They might use some of the technology to upgrade their HQ-9's..

Russian naval weapoexports for China I think are now practically non existant. But transport aircraft like the Il-76 and some helicopters (as well as technology assistance in some areas) still have a place in China.

IL-76 planned has stall. Mi-17 is going on but is under licensed produce. Which means Russian may supply certain parts and most production may still be conducted in China.

Even the very advance lada class submarine from Russia has not interest the Chinese.

It's sad how all Russian arm producers can only keep their production lines running by selling to foreigners because their own military cannot afford such luxuries.

As for China, they should steal Russian engineers and blueprints instead of just the weapons. I have heard a lot of these crap recently, but I doubt there are any polar bears are in Chinese research firms right now.

Russia is leery of selling China military hardware that China may reverse engineer and build for themselves, cutting Russia out of the after market picture, or sell abroad at a lower price than the Russian equivalent. South Africa is now complaining of exactly the same treatment with respect to A-Darter.

China builds Python 3 in a factory built with Israeli assistance. It's produced by the 607 Institute. It is pretty standard to see a pair of them under the wings of J-10's in the photos I have seen. It leverages AIM-9L technology with better maneuverability. A-Darter is closer to Python 5 and AIM-9X in seeker performance and maneuverability.
