What options do the chinese have in terms of russian weapons?

it seems the russians are hesitant selling "decent" weapons to the chinese but seem pretty liberal about selling them to india. I know it might be attribute to reverse engineering.

What is there left in russian arsenal that is worth buying but more importantly what are they willing to sell

I know India has been a steady client state of the Soviet/Russia for many decades. India buys and produces many Russian weapons under license.
Were as china since the mid sixties until after 89 were not on friendly terms with Russia. China for a time was quasi aligned with the US to defend her from a perceived threat from Russia.

Which weapons are you talking about exactly? I'm really not aware of any "decent" weapon that they are willing to sell to India, but not to China?

Indian inability to reverse engine vast majority of foreign purchases stops them from doing this, instead of value of rule of law. Countary to Indian fanboys may say.

AK 47 is illegally manufactured in India and Akash missile resembles the Sa 6.

Since last few years, China still needs Russian components and technical cooperation. Buying a 1000 T 90 tanks makes bigger news then buying Russian engines for Chinese jets. Complete systems tend to generate more discussion, in comparison to buying sub systems.

In summary China is buying, but its not always revealed to press.

the newest nuclear subs for example.
Generally when we look at weapon sales, russia always have had some holding back.

Lets not forget the Tu-22Ms

But lets look at what is there left to buy from the russians

Russian weapons are not reliableto China,China is developing its own weapons. The United States bought 2 Su-27 is a warning to China.

United States bought 2 Su-27? Do you have anything to confirm that and when is that? US could design and manufacture better aircrafts - F22, F-15E, etc? Why they need to buy Su-27?

A Private, commerical, civilian aircraft company called 'Pride Aircraft' who mostly sell airplane hobbyist ex-Eastern Bloc aircraft like L-29 and L-39s bought two demilitarized, ex-Ukrainain Su-27s on May 5th, 2009.

It says in "the art of war" that to know one self and one's enemy is key to win a battle. It is possible that the U.S. wants to understand su-27 better since it is very likely that U.S. will have to face some of the variants of this fighter in any future major conflict.

China know Russian are unreliable weapon supplier. And buying Russian weapon as a stop gap only.
Since the last delivery of S-300PMU2, which important complete weapon system has China bought from Russia? Besides some AL-31F engines, nothing new is bought.

If there is one thing worthy to buy. If will be S-400 triumph. But seems so far, China has not make any move for it.
