So in the top picture, what is the range from the St Albans to the Kuz,,, 1500 yds, and is there a standard separation that courtesy requires for "friendly escort"??
Well they "lost" a Mig-29 and an SU-33, so they are short what they departed with, thankfully both pilots ejected safely! is that luck gentlemen or is their shooter better than ours???
obviously one gent had time to prepare, and the other bird was a roll-off after arresting gear failure?

Actually that stack exhaust is about right for a ship that age. I served aboard USS Hancock(CVA 19) which was 30+ years old at the time I was aboard in '74 & '75...and she smoked almost as bad as ADM"K". Now USS Midway (CVA 41) was almost thirty when I was aboard '73 & '74 and she hardly smoked at all.
