IDK if I'd want someone to operate on me on a helicopter...Export is not measure of advancement of engine technology as Russia does not have user base like Boeing/Airbus.
that Yak-130M on previous gas. 9 hard points for a trainer with wing tip pods.
and no export customer can use how Russia uses its equipment like Mi-26 (Soviet technology) is using in Ukraine. Extended range low altitude flights. or reliability of the system to do most complex surgeries. it means the temperature control and power supply in addition to the engine in the field has attained this reliability. Distributed Air defense and drone launch point is all Helicopter logistic support.

I am sure they have done analysis. Every Russian Mi-8 has either 2 or 4 external fuel tanks. so assumption is there speed is slower.IDK if I'd want someone to operate on me on a helicopter...
Russia launches up to 250 aerial bombs over Ukraine every day
I'm sure they did the analysis, and that analysis could work out to be wrong.I am sure they have done analysis. Every Russian Mi-8 has either 2 or 4 external fuel tanks. so assumption is there speed is slower.
just look at what Ukraine medic is facing due enhance capability of drones. The point is this highly distributed conflict. Even mis firing of Air defense missiles. when system is overloaded can create alot of damage. The reliability of missiles and launcher 24/7 becomes very important. or Russia own cruise missiles can hit civilians as they are normally fired from several hundreds km.
Ukraine is not even 10% of Russia airpower because this glide bombs are limited to Su-34 sorties and with not full load out. Shoigu said Su-34 is doing 6 sorties per day on average and that was nearly two years ago. Now Su-34 fleet is way larger and range of bombs 130 to 400km. The greater the range the less time for sortie. now take this template against peer competitor with the intensity of missile launches, air defense and glide bombs much higher and same on receiving end. This need much larger and more capable helicopter fleet.
It does not mean flying only. they park in some locations where other choppers collect inured people and bring to them.I'm sure they did the analysis, and that analysis could work out to be wrong.
IMO the most likely use of this is that the flying hospital is flown to the injured person, allowing doctors and surgeons operate as soon as possible. Then, once the person is stabilized or the surgery is over, that person is flown to a longer-term care facility.
It really does sound like utter madness to actually fly to the supposedly critical person, take the time to strap him in, sedate him, and operate on him while flying.

"A fashionable, large yacht": what to expect from the MI-38-2 helicopter after modernization
- The Mi-38-2 is an upgraded version of the Mi-38, developed in 2011. The "2" refers not only to the domestically produced Klimov TV7-117 engine, but also to its maximum takeoff weight of 16.5 tons, the ability to carry up to 30 passengers, six tons on an external sling, and five tons inside the cargo compartment. It can carry any cargo at a speed of 290 km/h over a range of 1,200 km.
The best of MI-38
The Mi-38 helicopter's capabilities allow it to operate at high altitudes and in both hot and cold temperatures. The Mi-38 has a centralized fueling system and can carry cargo both inside the cabin and on an external sling. The helicopter has a large cargo hatch in the tail, equipped with a winch and capable of lifting loads of up to 300 kg. The passenger version is equipped with a buffet and lavatory and can carry up to 30 passengers. The rescue version carries eight pairs of medical stretchers.

Thanks to new technical solutions, fuel consumption in all flight modes has been reduced by 7%. This reduces operating costs, increases the aircraft's range, and enhances its ability to perform complex aerobatic maneuvers. Furthermore, the engine provides increased energy consumption for powering the electronic systems of modern aircraft.
UEC specialists are also developing a modification of the 177S for use in advanced fifth-generation aircraft systems. Currently, the new development is in the active testing phase in Russia. This modification offers even higher thrust and even lower fuel consumption in all modes. This will significantly improve supersonic cruising performance at all altitudes.

The Su-57E that visited Dubai is equipped with the so-called first-stage engine, the AL-41F1, as found on the Su-35S fighter jet. According to the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), the next-generation AL-51F1 engine, also known as "Product 30," has been under development since 2014. These two engines are capable of producing a combined thrust of 22,000 kilograms-force. The fighter will be capable of supersonic flight without afterburners, reaching speeds of up to 3,000 kilometers per hour, and climbing to an altitude of 20,000 meters.
The test flights are done are with 2 ton payload of 4 missiles. seems Su-57 internal payload is 4 tons. medical fitness is two time mentioned regarding air show demo.Expert: The Su-57 fighter jet is superior to the MiG-31.
Test pilot Vladimir Kondaurov, Hero of the Soviet Union, announced that the Su-57 fighter jet would outperform the MiG-31 in terms of missile range and long-range air combat.
He continues, stating that the Su-57 is already equipped with new long-range weapons and is slightly superior to the MiG-31 in this area. The fighter will also be equipped with new guided missiles in the future
