The hope is that there would be realistic views and expectation from both side if technology transfers are desired. The FGFA basically reveals India wants a new aircraft different to the T-50 baseline which obviously not sit well with the Russians. AMCA should not impact what ever fighter Russia will offer. India indigenous Programmes can coexist with Russian system. you can already seen the result that Brahmos aerospace is now greatly expanded. while any French system are always limited.

That would take more into India's willingness to go through the effort. like i recalled at some point French do offer Kh-31 to be integrated to Rafale. I would say French are pretty flexible with their platform.
For meteor case tho.. since it's made by consortium (e.g the rocket motor for Meteor is built by Germans) There might be long bureaucracy on what can fire the missile.
India GDP is growing and it has the human capital to be integrated to rest of the world. so money should not be an issue when India retires older jets with non AESA radar and older engines.
