The problem with using civilian drones is that they can be easily jammed and their communications intercepted.
I assume these drones would be using frequency hopping encrypted communications.

I recalled there was schematics of 57mm Laser guided rounds somewhere.

I'm curious tho if Russia will do AHEAD munition approach for 57mm. That will allow engagement for very small target previous 30mm cant do due to dispersion and overall lack of "smart" fuze.

Seen somewhere they will be beam riding ammunition ?

Bench tests of the PAK DA engine were held in Samara

31.10.2022
Prototypes of the “izdeliye RF” engine for a promising long-range aviation complex (PAK DA) have passed bench tests. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in the military-industrial complex.

“Several prototypes of the engine have already passed part of the bench tests, now the tests are ongoing, according to their results, we can say that the engine confirms the parameters laid down in it”, the agency’s interlocutor said.

He added that a special stand for testing was prepared for the “izdeliye RF”. At UEC-Kuznetsov, preparations are underway for the production of the engine.

Alexey Sobolev, Deputy General Director - Managing Director of UEC-Kuznetsov, spoke about the assembly of the first engine for PAK DA in December 2020.

In 2021, the Russian Ministry of Defense was reported to have approved the final look of the PAK DA. Priority is given to reducing the visibility of the aircraft and weapons with a long range of destruction, and the construction of several prototypes of a promising aircraft is also underway.

PAK DA is designed according to the "flying wing" scheme with subsonic flight speed. The design of the new strategic missile carrier will make extensive use of technologies and materials that reduce the radar visibility of the aircraft. It will be capable of carrying existing and future long-range cruise missiles, high-precision bombs, hypersonic weapons, and will be equipped with modern means of communication and electronic warfare.

UEC-Kuznetsov is developing a gas generator for a new advanced engine

23.12.2020
The Samara engine-building company "UEC-Kuznetsov" has started developing a gas generator for a 5th generation engine in the 18-24 tf thrust class. The new engine can be used for advanced long-range and military transport aircraft - PAK DA and PAK VTA. Research work is planned to be completed by the end of 2022. General designer of the company Pavel Chupin talked about it.

R&D should end with a deep, in the scope of a technical project, study of the design, including the development of a three-dimensional geometric model, "digital twins" of the gas generator and its main components, assembly units and parts for all basic physical processes.

"The promising work that we are currently carrying out is work on a twin-shaft gas generator for next-generation engines. This gas generator is in the same thrust class as the gas generator for the NK-32. The project for a promising gas generator is estimated to last until the end of 2022", he said. “In the future, the new engine can be used for advanced long-range and military transport aircraft”, added Pavel Chupin.

The project is being carried out by the design bureau "UEC-Kuznetsov" in partnership with Samara University. S. P. Koroleva.

Alexey Sobolev, Deputy General Director - Managing Director of UEC-Kuznetsov, added that work on the gas generator of the next generation engine is the largest work that is currently being carried out at UEC-Kuznetsov.

“This is a gas generator in the same thrust class as the NK-32 gas generator. But the fundamental requirement that we place on this gas generator is a significant improvement in fuel efficiency and weight reduction, that is, there indicators in relation to the gas generator of the NK-32 engine are It is 10-15% better in terms of mass, in terms of specific fuel consumption, and in terms of requirements, in principle, this suggests that this is a gas generator for the next generation engine", Sobolev said.

“We are already looking at how to further develop the product line that we have. This is both the further development of the izdeliye RF and the ability to create engines based on this gas generator”, Alexei Sobolev explained.

Titanium and Airbus.

Faury says the airframer is still procuring titanium from Russian supplier VSMPO, which is trading without sanctions, but he says that preparations are being laid to tap alternative sources.

“We’re moving forward to be able to be immune from anything that would happen,” he says.
But he adds: “A world without Russian titanium is not a world as good as it is today in aerospace.”

Faury says an inability to use this source would be a “pure lose-lose situation”, but that Airbus is “preparing for that scenario”.

Yet you will see Ukrainian propaganda spewed all over the net, including in Wikipedia, claiming that this factory is not producing tanks because they use Western parts. That sanctions put into place this year caused the parts shortage. Pure BS. As you can see the factory is running at full tilt. The whole Russian MIC has been under Western sanctions since 2014. Parts which were imported, electronic components like thermal sights, have been replaced with Russian made parts years ago.

Footage of the assembly, launch and combat operation of the Russian Kub-BLA kamikaze drone. The Cube was developed in 2019 by ZALA AERO, a member of the Kalashnikov concern. The drone is made of radar-absorbing materials, which makes it virtually invisible to the radar and air defense systems of the enemy. The drone develops a speed of up to 130 kilometers per hour and carries a payload of 3 kg, the duration of the drone flight is 30 minutes. Advantages of the drone "Cube", hidden launch, high accuracy of bombing and ease of use. More details about the work of the drone in Ukraine in the video.
