, it emerged on Tuesday.
According to CNN Turk, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told colleagues at a top party meeting on Monday that Putin had approached him during a recent meeting in Tehran to suggest a deal with Turkish firm Baykar to produce its attack drones, which have proved effective against Russian forces in Ukraine.
“Putin told me that he wants to work with Baykar,” Erdogan reportedly said. “He proposed to establish a factory in Russia as [Bayakr] has done in the UAE.”
A Baykar spokesperson denied that the company had established a factory in the UAE. The spokesperson declined to comment on the Russian proposal.
However, a source with knowledge of the issue said Baykar was indeed in the process of establishing a production line in the UAE.
Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 drones had a proven track record of success against several adversaries in conflicts in Libya, Syria, and Nagorno-Karabakh. But they had not been used against an army with sophisticated electronic warfare capabilities and state-of-the-art air defence systems until the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
So far they have proved extremely effective in combating Russian troops deployed deep inside Ukrainian territory.
Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov revealed last month that Ukraine has received 50 armed drones from Turkish arms company Baykar since Russia's 24 February invasion.

The Russian Ministry of Defense showed the work of operators of the S-300V air defense system in Russia. The video shows the 9S32 multi-channel missile guidance station. The 9S32 station is capable of simultaneously performing a sector search and tracking up to 12 targets at a range of up to 150 km for aircraft and from 60 to 90 km for various types of missiles. The station has been in service with Russia since 1983.

ALL Turkish UAVs are easily knocked down, the UAV is large, Russian air defense works easily on it. I think this is an advertisement for drones, it is unlikely that Putin said that they are effective in Ukraine. It is possible that he offered to open a joint factory

Keep coping, won't change reality though.

Says it all. How are Russians going to manufacture Turkish drones when its major components are western derived?

Iranian drones are much more likely but we'll see.

yeah sure unless you want to wait 20 years for those F-16. Further arms deals with Russia will start de-westernization of Turkish airlines and Turkish airforce.

This is a shameful capitulation to American threats of sanctions. If Duterte is still president, I'm sure he will berate the US for such cheap attempts to pressure the PH to cancel their helo deal with Russia. Marcos seems to be more reserved in voicing opinions, so I don't expect to hear any reaction from him in relation to this situation. Now that the deal is canceled, the PH should at least refrain from buying American/ NATzO equipment as alternative to the Russian helos to deny them any benefits.

@PhSt Duterte said so himself BBM is a weak leader BUT compare to his opponent Ms Robredo he is much more better, let's see he just announced to renegotiate with China regarding the cancelled loans and I think he may visit China first before going to the US.

And on a side note, I know the reason "money" BUT knowing the Russian they may offer it cheap with affordable payment scheme as it try to enter a "western leaning customer". And also there is realignment of priorities as Agriculture become the main focus as we struggle the economic aftereffect of 2 years living under Covid.
