News Of The Hour at gazeta.ru right now (

) is the Kremlin said the Russian pull out from Syria had begun (some MP Battalion came back to Russia today)

if there was a large scale withdrawal now (and if Mr. Assad was able to hold up), I would be proven wrong about what I said in Syria Thread long time ago, which was Russia is bogged down in Syria according to me

(the funny part was Obama had said it earlier than me, but I was unaware of it while posting LOL)

in the interview given to The Komsomol Truth

says so far "over forty eight thousand" (48k) members of Russian Military have taken part in the Syria Campaign

he also says if Russia hadn't intervened, withing one or two months [since September of 2015] ISIL would've taken over Syria, and later Russia would have had to fight ISIL members in Russia EDIT not a full quote here (I'm on the train, sitting by the door to the dining car, people going back and forth) but the interview is actually interesting

now noticed (dated 18 December 2017) Novator reveals new Club system, missile and range details
Russia’s Novator Joint Stock Company has revealed details of a new export version of the Club missile system – designated Club-T – and its 3M-14E land attack cruise missile (LACM). Additionally, a senior representative has confirmed to Jane’s that the range of the LACM can be extended beyond that stipulated by the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) export control regime of which Russia is a member.

Designed around a 8×8 transport erector vehicle (TEL), the Club-T is armed with six 3M-14E1 LACMs. Speaking to Jane’s at the Gulf Defence & Aerospace exhibition in Kuwait City, company representative Mikhail Pakhomov, head of the Foreign Connections Department at Novator JSC, also revealed that while the quoted range of the 3M-14E1 in the company brochure is 275 km, the missile’s range can be extended beyond 300 km if required. Ballistic and cruise missile systems, including the 3M-14E1, are limited by the MTCR treaty to having a maximum range of 300 km with a payload (warhead) of no more than 500 kg. The warhead for the 3M-14TE is quoted by Novator JSC as being 450 kg in weight, below that stipulated by the MTCR and the same as that used by earlier 3M-14E LACM and greater than that which equips the 3M-54E1 anti-ship cruise missiles (ASCM).

While Club-T is marketed with the 3M-14E1 LACM, integration of the 3M-54E subsonic/supersonic three-stage and 3M-54E1 subsonic two-stage ASCM onto the Club-T platform is also nearing completion, said Pakhomov.

The Club-T TEL appears to be based on the MZKT-7930 8×8 platform produced by the Belarussian company Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. This is the same base vehicle as used with the 9K720 Iskander-M (domestic) and 9K720E Iskander-E (export) tactical short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) systems.

...
... and the rest is behind paywall at Jane's

Russia’s United Aircraft Corp. rolled out a new-build Tupolev Tu-160 strategic bomber on Nov. 16 in Kazan. Based on an incomplete airframe from the original production run that ended in 2008, the aircraft will be used as a prototype for the modernized Tu-160M2 with new engines, cockpit and electronics.

Advanced AEW&C
Russia’s Beriev A-100 airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft made its first flight from Taganrog on Nov. 18. The A-100 is based on an Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A airlifter, with an active, electronically scanned array radar developed by Vega Corp. in the rotodome. The aircraft is to begin replacing the A-50 and A-50U in 2020.

Deliveries of Sukhoï Su-30SM: report 2017

The arrival today on the basis of Taldikorgan in Kazakhstan completes the 2017 delivery schedule for this aircraft. Interestingly, while official announcements at the beginning of the year spoke of the delivery of 17 devices: it seems that a quick count shows that the numbers do not match.
Let's take a look at the deliveries of the year for the Su-30SM.

Russian Air Force (VKS)

Deliveries of Su-30SM to the Russian Air Force this year have involved the equipment of a single unit: the 14 IAP Khalino (Kursk oblast). This unit, equipped with two squadrons of MiG-29SMT received no less than 12 Su-30SM this year.
Coded 71 to 82 Red, the 12 devices in question were delivered between June and December; allowing to replace the first squadron of MiG-29SMT.
The re-equipment of this unit is expected to continue next year and the bulk of deliveries for the Russian Air Force will focus on the refitting of the second squadron of 14 IAP.
As an anecdote, the Su-30SM coded 82 Red (T10MK5 1506) is the 100th aircraft of this type delivered to the Russian army (navy included). It is therefore the second aircraft to cross this symbolic course in Russia after the Su-34.

With these deliveries, there are no less than 80 Su-30SM in service on 88 aircraft on order for the Russian Air Force. The first elements available on the GPV already know that additional orders of Su-30SM will be placed.

Russian Navy (VMF)
It was not less than 5 Su-30SM that were delivered this year to the Russian Navy, they came to complete the endowment of 72 AvB Chkalovsk / Chernyakhovsk. Coded 71 to 75 Blue, the aircraft join the 70 Bleu already delivered at the end of 2016 and whose arrival marked the beginning of the renewal of the local fleet.
Delivered in batches between May and August, the 72 AvB now has a renewed half squadron and it seems that the 2018 deliveries will focus on the continued retrofitting of the 72 AvB ground attack branch. .

Su-30SM of 72 AvB coded "74 Red". @ Piligrim51 Photo
The Russian Navy currently has 20 Su-30SM on three bases and there are still 8 Su-30SM to be contracted. It is easy to believe that there will be 6 devices to equip the 72 AvB and the remaining 2 aircraft will probably join the 279 OKIAP of Severomorsk-3.

Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan has signed two contracts for Su-30SM; a first contract for 4 Su-30SM and dated May 2014 and a second contract for 7 Su-30SM dated December 2015. There are currently 6 aircraft in service which are coded 01 to 06 Red, the remaining (5 devices) to be delivered will join the Taldykorgan base (Almaty region).

In conclusion

Contrary to what was announced at the beginning of the year, it was not 17 but 19 Sukhoi Su-30SM that were delivered this year. With 12 aircraft delivered to the Russian Air Force, 5 to the Russian Navy and finally 2 to Kazakhstan: the count is good.
It is interesting to see that the production rate seems to increase slightly compared to previous years as the main orders in progress come to an end. As things stand, there is still the order of Belarus and the orders from Kazakhstan to honor.

As mentioned before, Russia will place one (or more) additional order (s) for the Air Force and the Navy. The latter has already announced that its goal is to have 50 Su-30SM futures. With regard to the air force with the objective of turning the chain until 2022 and given the rate of production; it is easy to rely on an additional order of at least 50 devices.
We will come back regularly to the question
