Tu-160m2 - BLACKJACK-M - project resume production of the Tu-160. Discussion of the resumption of production of the Tu-160 started in the spring of 2015. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, OAK, ODK, PSC "Tupolev", Russian Academy of Sciences and KAPO im.Gorbunova. June 2, 2017 in the media stated that the industry started production of the new aircraft units (
). Presumably the first stage we are talking about building a reserve for the Kazan aircraft plant. June 19, 2017 stated that the Air Force will receive a term of 3-4 Tu-160m2 per year and it is planned to put all 50 TU-160m2.
The first flight of the first TU-160m2 is expected in March 2018 (
