my point has been it'll be interesting to see how they fare in reductors for naval gas turbines, something which will be known let's say dozen years from now (or much sooner if they goofed that's why I said "let's wait and see" in the post you quoted

They have been using gas turbine powered naval ships since the sixties so they did have the technology but a quarter of a century ago it was likely mislaid. There is no magic involved so providing enough resources to competent people will be enough.
