They have five building. But the second one, is still not launched, and not expected tpo be commissioned until 2018...and I expect that date to slip.
So, the date they targeted, which was five years after the first, will now slip.
At the rate they are going, they may finish the five they are building by the late 2020s.
By that time, the US will have produced another 13-15 Virginia class boats.
As I said, the Russians simply have to find a way to do better finiancially and in the ship yards.
Putin's foreign policy, while popular among many at home in Russia, is hurting him as the west turns away economic and international support from Russia.
Anyhow...time will tell...but right now, their progress is painfully slow.
