New missile for Russia's 5th-generation fighter to exceed Mach 3.5 speed — developer
The missile will be placed inside the fighter’s fuselage

ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region), August 26. /TASS/. The new X-58USHK missile for Russia’s fifth generation Sukhoi PAK FA fighter will exceed the speed of 3.5 Mach, CEO of Tactical Missiles Corporation (KTRV), which is developing these weapons, Boris Obnosov, told reporters on Wednesday.

"The X-58USHK missile for the fifth-generation fighter is at the final stages of development ... the flight speed will exceed 3.5 Mach," Obnosov said.

According to him, the missile will be placed inside the fighter’s fuselage.

Obnosov said that the X-58USHK missile has a major export potential owing to its speed characteristics and small size.

The KTRV Corporation announced in early July the beginning of testing of a new anti-radar missile for the PAK FA fighter jet.

The Sukhoi PAK FA (Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation) is a fifth generation fighter program of the Russian Air Force. The T-50 is the name of the prototype aircraft designed by Sukhoi for the PAK FA programme. The PAK FA is intended to be the successor to the MiG-29 and Su-27 in the Russian Air Force and serve as the basis for the Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft being co-developed by Sukhoi and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force.

PAK FA fighter first flew in 2010. The aircraft is expected to enter service in 2016, and serial deliveries will begin in 2017.

New Russian vessel design
A lot of photos of the next generation of the Russian Navy. Look like they took inspiration from the UK Carrier for their next AC. Interesting model aircraft, including the non-existing AWAC aircraft

As Jeff says: “I’ll believe it when I see the keel being laid.”

We already talked about this "new"
carrier design on a couple of threads (including this one) and thoroughly debunked it.

It's a fan boy design.

The design showed a ski-jump on the angled deck where landing aircraft have to have a straight deck end to bolt should they either miss the wires, or if a wire breaks.

So, this design is not realistic or workable.

On top of that...if the Russians ever build such a large, nuclear powered carrier (which is not going to happen in th near future) then I am willing to bet it will be a full CATOBAR carrier and not a STOBAR carrier.

Oops, my mistake. Just wanted to show the ridiculousness of a UK type carrier design by Russia.

Well you have to admit it is a very nice model:)

Yes...it is clear that they took the two island design from the UK...and it is a nice model.

But having a ski-jump off the angled deck is a clincher regarding its realism..

Just imagine how much fun you could have with this model if it was water tight and motorized (i.e. remote controlled). In winter you could take it to a near frozen lake and pretend you are in Murmansk.

Interesting, so it seems the Russian VLS missiles are ejected with compressed air and the rocket motors are lit after the missiles clears the tube compared to the US system in which the rocket motors are ignited within the VLS to gain thrust to propel them out of the tube.

When it comes to Naval SAMs Russia has almost always used cold launched systems. Naval Tor-M1, Shtil, S-300 are all cold launched. But for anti-ship missiles its P-700, P-800, Klub series are hot launched. Interestingly PRC has a mix. Cold launched HHQ-9, S-300 while HHQ-16 is hot launched. But from 052D onward things will be all hot-launched i believe.
