He tried to negotiate an engine for the Tejas from the Soviet Union in the 1980s. They wouldn't sell the engines alone but rather whole fighters like MiG-29. But that is normal for the Soviets.
As for the Su-57 the Russians gave more tech access than the French are giving with the Rafale. And they got the much worse and more expensive Rafale.

The BMPT has proven itself excellently during the special military operation
I highly doubt that.
The twin cannon thing denied the BMPT of the main asset that could had fulfill its purpose in urban warfare.
Early concepts were much better, separate 30mm cannons on one chassis that can engage 2 separate targets at once offering much higher elevation.

Which vehicle has better ability to engage higrises and tall spots in general. The BMPT which is a dedicated urban and tank fire support asset or BMP-2 & 3 which are generic IFVs?
Max elevation for each vehicle is:
BMP-2 75 degrees
BMP-3 60 degrees
BMPT 45 degrees

A vehicle that perfectly fits what BMPT should be already exists. T-15, tank level protection, with a more flexible yet powerful weapon system and dedicated AT weaponry, addon bonus it's an IFV so it can carry meat.

They should make a T-90 based T-15 instead.

He says airforce was keen but Russian were not willing to talk any thing about development. this is attitude of power that does not need money which was original assertion. Russia surely look at things much deeper than what they say in public
Russia always offered engine to FC-1 since 90s. it is not like engine is any issue. that RD-93MA is 4.5G engine. The price of Su-57 with complete training and support package is yet to be determined. so why you think it will be cheaper than Rafale?

Another batch of BMPT has been sent to the troops!

The Uralvagonzavod Concern of the Rostec State Corporation, on the eve of the Russian Ground Forces Day, delivered another batch of tank support combat vehicles (BMPT).

The BMPT has proven itself excellently during the special military operation and is currently in high demand in the Russian troops. Operational experience has shown that these vehicles can be used both in conjunction with tanks and as an independent combat unit.

– Uralvagonzavod is fulfilling a large order for BMPT: the demand for this vehicle is high. It has always been considered that the main striking force of the Ground Forces is tanks. Now it can be said that BMPTs have been added to them, noted the General Director of the Uralvagonzavod Concern, Alexander Potapov.

The designers of UVZ are constantly working on improving the characteristics of the tank support combat vehicle based on combat experience. The 2025 model vehicles have increased dynamic protection and additional side protection installed. The BMPT, like the T-90M “Breakthrough” and T-72B3M tanks, come off the production line equipped with anti-drone grids and electronic warfare systems.

The modern digital fire control system allows firing from all weapons both stationary and on the move, day and night, simultaneously engaging up to three different targets located at different ranges and different course angles.

Performance is impressive, or so they say. Price --- at $5 million a pop using a T-90 chassis --- not so much.

If the Terminator managed to pass through Belousov's tight scrutiny, I am willing to give it a pass. He's not a friend of the project, he being all out for drones, so to get this to pass him requires overwhelming and undisputed merit, along with a good carrot for the bean counters.

This is not likely the original T-90 based Terminator using a new tank. Instead you have the BMPT-72, which is the same thing but using the T-72 chassis. Using T-72 chassis from mothball storage, price must be a lot more affordable. This is what's likely to be mass produced and delivered.

They should also consider the BMPT-62 idea, which currently Algeria is using to upgrade their T-62 tanks. Here, the T-62 turret is replaced with the Berezhok combat module. Potentially you can even fit the Bumerang combat module on this chassis.
