Review of Russian mechanics of the FV103 Spartan armored personnel carrier of Ukraine. Russian mechanics restored the Ukrainian FV103 Spartan armored personnel carrier of British manufacture. The FV103 armored personnel carrier was adopted by the British army in 1978, in 2007 it began to be decommissioned and later transferred to the Ukrainian army. It is not impossible. But there are other possibilities. United Engine Corporation in Russia recently signed a deal to acquire Reynolds. This was a private company in Russia which makes small jet engines. It is expected these will be used in military drones and production will be expanded. But they would also likely have enough power for something like the UMPK FAB.
Not sure why they would use pulsejets, while Russians mastered small form factor jet engine for years already. Also Grom propelled guided bombs exist.
Cost. Pulsejets are much simpler and use much less parts. Jets are more complex since they have turbine blades and more moving parts. And turbofans even more complex. With the twin spool mechanism and the fan section.
Currently I think the Russians mass produce turbofans. These are used for long range cruise missiles. They have more endurance and consume less fuel. Like thousands of kilometers range. But these turbofans also get to also be used in other missiles where they are overkill for the purpose and make the whole thing way more expensive than it should be.
Does it make sense to use the same engine that is on the Kalibr on something like the Kh-59 or smaller? But from what I get this is what is happening.

Russian Su-30SM2 fighters are equipped with an improved set of onboard radio-electronic equipment. The aircraft upgrade has increased the detection and identification range of air targets. The fighter has also received new high-precision weapons for destroying air, land and sea targets at a range of several hundred kilometers. They replaced imported components. The HUD was imported from Ukraine, and the LCDs used in the MFDs were imported from France. It should have a new cockpit and flight computers. This is an intermediate development since in the long term it is supposed to get the AL-41 engine and Irbis-E radar. As for my guess as to why they did not add the AL-41 already it probably requires changes to the airframe or making a specific version of the engine for it. And Irbis-E won't work without the AL-41 because it needs more engine power to operate than the old engine can produce.

Well, the thristiest part of a radar would be the transmitter which contain the TWT (Travelling Wave Tube).. Bars and Irbis is using TWT's. It doesnt make any sense to get Irbis transmitter into Bars without also changing the engine if it was indeed need more engine power.
