SAU 2S31 Vienna entered service with the military. The Russian 120-mm self-propelled artillery and mortar unit has appeared in the army. It is not yet clear whether the Vena self-propelled guns began to be mass-produced or not; instead, the Russian army began modernizing the Nona self-propelled guns.
Modernizing NONA take less time than ramping up production of a new system and for active troops on the front, having refreshed NONA is way easier to use on the go.

But with the attrition they have on the front updating will probably not be enough and replacement will need to be sorted out and that system fit clearly in the slot.

The Vienna would have to be built at the same facilities which are right now busy building BMP-3s and BMD-3Ms. So it would compete with resources in what is already a very, very, busy facility.

Russia closed down the Volgograd facility which used to build the BMD-2 a couple years ago. This severely cuts back on the amount of productive capacity for IFVs they have. I would say they either need to expand facilities at Kurganmashzavod or build new facilities elsewhere. The Nona upgrades are probably being done at the new facility for upgrading older vehicles they setup at Kurganmashzavod.

Assault caliber: strike units of the Russian Armed Forces will receive new machine guns

The ASh-12 will be effective in battles for field fortifications and in urban areas.

It is planned to equip storm detachments and the personnel of reconnaissance and assault brigades of the Russian army with large-caliber ASh-12 assault rifles, sources in the Russian Ministry of Defense told Izvestia. Unlike standard AKs and assault rifles, which fire 5.45, 5.56 or 7.62 mm cartridges, the "assault rifle" uses 12.7 mm caliber. Thanks to this, it is able to penetrate not only body armor and the protection of light armored vehicles, but also field fortifications. The new weapon will undoubtedly be useful during assault operations and for fighting in the city, but it will not be suitable for all fighters, experts believe.
...
In particular, it is proposed to arm the fighters of these units (storm detachments) with large-caliber ASH-12 assault rifles. An experimental batch has already been sent for testing to the special military operation zone. Based on the results of operation, the final decision will be made.
...
The ASh-12, of course, should prove effective in urban battles. The power of the cartridge allows you to destroy the enemy behind light obstacles. The downside is the heaviness and less carryable ammunition.
...
The ASh-12 assault rifle uses a large-caliber 12.7x55 mm STs-130 cartridge, which makes it possible to more effectively neutralize targets in armor protection when solving tactical problems at short and ultra-short distances, including in closed and enclosed spaces, trenches, and inside fortifications. The cartridges are available in four versions: with armor-piercing, shell, light bullet and two-bullet with tandem placement.
...
The machine gun is made according to the bullpup design (short layout with a handle in front of the magazine). The forend, stock and handle are made of impact-resistant plastic. The ASh-12 is equipped with a two-chamber muzzle brake to reduce recoil. There are devices for mounting collimator and optical sights, laser designators, front handles, bipods and other elements.

In August of this year, the High-Precision Complexes holding of the Rostec state corporation reported that the ASh-12 is used by special forces units in the special military operation zone.
...
Specialized assault units and units are an innovation that appeared in the army during a special military operation. In Soviet times they were not seen as necessary. However, during modern military conflicts, situations regularly arise when it is necessary to take a fortified area by storm. This is especially relevant for Ukrainian realities - for example, in the Donbass, Ukrainian formations created a system of fortifications over the course of nine years.

Changes at the tactical level occurred already during the fighting. In units and formations, assault reconnaissance and maneuver detachments were created to break through enemy defenses both in fortified areas and in urban environments. Now it has been decided to scale and develop this experience.

As Izvestia recently reported, the military department decided to create separate reconnaissance and assault brigades. The recruitment of new units has already begun. New formations should be part of combined arms armies, as well as newly created army corps.

The organizational and staffing structure of the reconnaissance and assault brigades is not disclosed. But it is known that they will include assault troops designed to break through the enemy’s layered defenses, as well as reconnaissance units capable of conducting reconnaissance at tactical depth. The brigades will receive their own tanks, light armored vehicles, artillery, as well as a wide range of drones. The personnel of the assault detachments will be trained to fight in confined spaces - trenches, buildings, and bunkers - and in their skills they will not be inferior to special forces soldiers.

Previously, assault units appeared as part of the engineering troops. This decision was made based on the experience of military operations in Syria. As part of a large-scale reform, engineering troops have transformed from support units into an independent striking force that is capable of participating in modern wars and other armed conflicts.

Russia has increased the efficiency of the S-400 air defense system. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the appearance of new air defense systems in the troops, which work extremely effectively when hitting targets. It is not reported which air defense systems appeared, and against this background various rumors began. Indeed, it is quite difficult to explain the results of the air defense work that were announced by the Ministry of Defense, since the appearance of new air defense systems in the troops was not reported. Let’s explain briefly, perhaps the reason is that the missiles of the S-400 air defense system have been improved, as sources close to the Ministry of Defense report, now the missiles are aimed at targets by the A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft. If this is really the case, then the effectiveness of the S-400 air defense system will indeed increase significantly. What benefits does this provide!? In this mode of operation, the radar of the S-400 air defense system does not need to be turned on, which makes it difficult to detect the complex. In addition, now the missile, using the A-50 aircraft, can be aimed at a low-flying target located hundreds of kilometers away.

Russian T-90M tanks began using Telnik shells. The crews of Russian T-90M tanks began to use high-explosive fragmentation shells - 3OF82 "Telnik". To reduce the cost of production, the new Telnik shells are made in the 3OF26 shell body. The Telnik shells, developed by the Uralvagonzavod concern, feature the new ammunition with the ability to explode at a given point. The Telnik projectile can detonate not only above the target, but also in front of it, forming a cone-shaped cloud of fragments. The head of the projectile, instead of a standard fuse, is equipped with a remote contact fuse marked 3B48. Thanks to new shells, the T-90M tank increases its anti-personnel capabilities up to six times. The explosive mass of the projectile is three kilograms; in the nose of the projectile there is a block of 450 destructive elements. The diameter of the affected area by projectile fragments is up to 300 meters.
