The full-size SUV Aurus Komendant was awarded the “Best Industrial Design of Russia” award in the “Design Product” category.

This award is organized by the Moscow administration together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The competition is held in 7 categories and 20 nominations. The categories cover a wide range of products, from packaging and furniture to vehicles and urban design.

Komendant won in the “Vehicles” category. In this section, but in other categories, the GAZelle e-City electric bus (“People’s Choice”), the Rostselmash combine harvester (“Design Prototype”) and the SH-750 H2 unmanned helicopter from Aeromax (“People’s Choice”) were also noted ).

Norsi-Trans will begin production of data storage systems, servers and computers based on Chinese Loongson processors


The Russian company Norsi-Trans will begin producing data storage systems (DSS), servers and computers based on Chinese Loongson processors. Other manufacturers are also considering integrating them into their electronics, Kommersant writes .

According to market participants, the decision of Chinese partners to allow the import of processors into the Russian Federation is due to Loongson falling under US blocking sanctions. Domestic processor developers do not see themselves as a threat in Chinese products.

However, experts believe that the Russian Federation needs to seek “mirror access” to the market and technologies from the PRC. Norsi-Trans CEO Sergei Ovchinnikov told Kommersant that at the Microelectronics forum (held in Sochi from October 9 to 14), the company will announce the start of production of servers, data storage systems, personal computers and laptops using Chinese Loongson processors.

The partner of Norsi-Trans will be Basalt SPO (developer of the Viola OS), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company Alexey Smirnov told Kommersant. It adapts the Viola OS for Loongson processors. Norsi-Trans is not the only Russian manufacturer that plans to produce equipment using Loongson chips.

Promobit, which produces computer equipment under the Bitblaze brand, also plans to use the technology, its CEO Maxim Koposov told Kommersant: “We are ready to supplement the product portfolio with processors with the LoongArch architecture.”

A project for gasification of the Kamchatka Territory using LNG has been launched. And the Murmansk region and Karelia will receive gas from the Volkhov-Murmansk-Belokamenka gas pipeline. The main line will be laid for a project for the production of liquefied gas on the Kola Peninsula. We have such guidelines and examples to follow. I mean the nuclear industry, which is increasing its role in Russia’s energy balance. It accounts for about 20 percent of all electricity in the country - 19.7, and last year a new record for production at nuclear power plants was set.

The specialized plant of the Motorinvest company in the Lipetsk region is capable of producing up to 100 thousand cars per year; by the end of 2022, the production of four models of the Evolute brand range has been launched. As part of the international forum “One Belt, One Road,” a joint Russian-Chinese Civil Aviation Industry Development Fund with a volume of 100 billion rubles was created for investments in aviation enterprises and projects in the two countries. Investments will be made in national currencies, the press service of the Russian Direct Investment Fund reported.

In addition to the aviation industry, the Fund will provide financial support to existing and future projects in the aerospace industry, digital and energy-efficient technologies and big data. Investments in projects in Russia and China will be made in equal amounts.

As part of investment cooperation with China, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, through various platforms with Chinese partners, has already implemented more than 40 projects with a total investment volume of over 750 billion rubles, the statement clarifies.

“Thanks to the Aviation Industry Development Fund, Russian and Chinese companies will be able to attract the necessary investments to expand existing production facilities and design new types of aviation transport and develop breakthrough technologies. Novatek confirms building of gas pipeline to Murmansk​

The 1,300 km long pipeline will provide natural gas to households in Murmansk and Karelia and supply a new LNG plant in the Kola Bay. The Kremlin has approved the project, company CEO Leonid Mikhelson says.

The pipeline that will have a capacity to transport 40 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be built by Novatek itself, Mikhelson told journalists during the recent Russian Energy Week.

A decision to build the new infrastructure has been taken on the highest state level following several rounds of discussions, the company leader explained.

About 75 percent of the pipeline gas will be reserved for the projected new Murmansk LNG plant, while the remaining 25 percent will used for the gasification of towns and settlements in the regions of Karelia and Murmansk.

Vladimir Putin said that the pipeline Volkhov-Murmansk-Belokamenka will be instrumental not only for the production of LNG in Murmansk.

He also said that Russia has “big plans” in the field of LNG, and that production is due to triple to 100 million tons per year in the course of the next decade.

According to Leonid Michelson, the new pipeline will be powered by surplus energy from the Kola Nuclear Power Plant, which will allow Novatek not to rely on sanctioned gas turbines from western manufacturers. The projected three development trains are estimated to need a total capacity of 1500 MW.

A Russian energy analyst says to RBC that the 1,300 km long pipeline from Volkhov near St.Petersburg to the Kola Peninsula could be ready in 2027, the same year that Novatek intends to complete the first of three projected trains in the Murmansk LNG. The construction price is estimated to about 450 billion rubles (€4,37 billions).
