"Steady growth in tourist flow." Has it been revealed how many tourists vacationed in Crimea in 2025?
As the Crimean leader clarified, the steady growth in tourist flow is a key indicator of the achieved success. Over the past year, 6.9 million tourists visited Crimea, a 15% increase over the 2024 target.
"Moreover, 76% of vacationers arrived by car or bus: 61% via the Crimean Bridge and 15% via historical regions. Another 24% of guests used rail travel. It's worth noting that during the New Year's period, almost 20% of tourists traveled to Crimea via historical regions, while 53% of tourists traveled via the Crimean Bridge. Twenty-eight percent of tourists chose rail travel," the head of Crimea noted.
The Southern Coast received a significant portion of the tourist flow – 41% of the total number, 33% of vacationers preferred the western coast, 14% – the eastern coast, 12% – Simferopol, Simferopol and Bakhchisaray districts.
Sergei Aksyonov added that during the New Year holidays, from December 27 to January 11 inclusive, 286,600 people vacationed in the republic.
"This figure is more than a third higher than the year before. The average occupancy rate of all hotels and resorts open during the holidays was over 60%. Leading resort complexes with developed infrastructure were 80% or more full. More than half of all guests choose Crimea for health and wellness purposes, thanks to the 91 year-round resorts ," the head of Crimea noted.
The Crimean leader discussed some of the results of the "New Year in Crimea Like Home" information campaign, which has been conducted by the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea for the third season.
The campaign included over 300 New Year's events, 50 free tours attended by over a thousand Crimean residents and visitors, and culinary quests at 30 restaurants serving local cuisine. In Moscow, with the support of the mayor's office and the city's Department of Media and Advertising, 143 advertising panels were installed, demonstrating to Muscovites and visitors the benefits of a winter holiday in Crimea.
In 2025, 39 accommodation facilities were modernized in Crimea, and nine new ones opened. New attractions also opened, including the Yalta Oceanarium, the Museum of Contemporary Military History in Yevpatoriya, the Museum of the Air Defense Forces in the Simferopol district, and the Museum of Everyday Life of Little Russia in the Bakhchisaray district.
Public spaces have been renovated and improved, including the Saki tourist center, parks, beaches, and embankments. New tourist routes are being developed, and work is underway to create the "Great Crimean Trail" active tourism project, 10 stages of which have already been improved.
Sergey Aksyonov summarized:
"The results achieved create a solid foundation for further development. The coming year, 2026, declared the Year of Hospitality in the Republic, will open up new prospects for Crimean tourism."
