We got a new quadruped robot here which seems to just be a huge competitor to unitree
In a factory setting it has no obvious advantage over any cheap 4 wheeled robot.
I can't think of a single task that robot can achieve independently.

Those joints looks like they would reduce reliability and increase maintainance while greatly increasing cost and reducing carrying capacity.

Edit: For assembly line stuff that is. If we are talking about massive things or construction that kind of flexibility could be very useful for tasks like welding.

I'll admit my problem with that kind of robot is that the most obvious usage will always be to carry either explosives or a remote controlled machinegun (or worse, AI controlled) and I must assume the creators are well aware of this.

it's better at climbing stairs. The robots you use in factory floor ideally are also used in serving your employees, working in cafeteria and carrying stuff around elsewhere.

Here's hoping robot companies will take purchase orders for advanced robotic servants by 2030. These servants should be able to perform most house chores, essentially replacing human maids. They should also be able to operate household appliances, cook food like fried rice, and assist the elderly. Robotic vacuum companies will not feel the heat yet as these will be too expensive, probably costing 20 thousand or more.
