Anything know why China is so ahead of Japan in areas like robotics dogs/humans but still lag behind Japan in industrial robots like robotics arms?

I think it is due to different companies in different markets. Unitree, AFAIK, does not make industrial robots. Siasun is like Fanuc and does not make humanoid robots and robotic dogs. But as we see more of such robots in factories, the traditional makers will probably follow suit.
@sunnymaxi , you were spot on about the progress of China's humanoid robots. It is a relief, finally.
Which comment are you referring to? I'm curious now.
I don't think that's true. China literally installed more industrial robots than rest of the world combined in recent years.
