Been a while since I updated all of you as to the goings on in my own personal universe, I have some good news and some bad news.
The Good News. I've gone Blonde! Back in August, I finally took the plunge and had my hair bleached (professionally) and coloured (at home) so now, given my penchant for wearing black, I look like a Pint of Guinness! Well it worked foe Rutger Hauer (RIP) and I'd been thinking about doing it for years. Glad I did!View attachment 54397
The Bad News Apparently, according to the Quacks, I'm in Kidney Failure as a result of long term damage from my Diabetes. I'm down to about 20% function and when it drops to below 14% (probably about 6 months), then I start Dialysis, and go on the Transplant list. Currently feeling pretty chilled about the whole situation, but then I was 'born without the panic gene', so life goes on.

On a sad note my Brother Jim went to be with the Lord on Feb 15th, 2020,, he was my first real friend, playmate, and "sparring partner", I'm already missing him, please pray for his wife, daughters, grandkids, and the girls husbands... this will be a tough one, even though we have had a year and a half to get set for it, Rest in Peace Bub.....

Just an update, I started Dialysis last Friday, also Saturday and am due back in Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from now on. Whilst this is benefitting my health, it has exacerbated another condition I have, 'Postural Hypotension', which basically means my Blood Pressure drops dramatically when I stand up. I joke that I have the perfect BP for someone who is 5 feet tall but alas I'm 6'3"! My BP was measured in the hospital as dropping down to 81/40, and there are corpses out there with better BP than me! Conversely when I lie down it goes a bit high (170/90) so I'm on medication for that and orders to stay off my feet!

I may not have posted much lately but I am reading most of everyone else's posts when I can. Hope to have more news soon.

Hang in there Obi Wan, we will keep praying for you Bub, I've got my own struggle with diabetes, though not nearly to the extent that you are going through, thanks so much for keeping us updated, hopefully your Drs. will get a handle on this... and I will take my health more seriously friend,,,, I bought Walnut Fudge today,, not smart at all....

Amen, and thanks Tam, its friends like you here on Sino Defense that bring us together in such a way that we have some empathy and understanding for one another.... those who have known me a while?? I hope could see a little improvement in my demeanor...

One a positive note, our twins have each given birth to a son, beautiful, lovely baby boys, and my tender hearted daughter, is in the process of adopting a young Chinese boy.... I'm very proud of my new grandsons, all three of them...
