Went on a 'trip' recently. Not going to lie.. I did peeked out the window couple times while over relatively hostile airspace hoping I did not see any SAM flashes LOL. More of a psychological thing .

Man, you were over "enemy territory", hope you were "strapped in to the back seat" of a fast fighter?? LOL really Kwai, man of mystery,,, you're not the only spy on SDF brother!

On a personal note, Happy Easter brother, and to all my SDF Brethren, Christian, Moslem, LDS, Buddhist, or Sikhs, I'm praying my God's best and most abundant Blessings! You know I'm a professing Christian, and I believe most of you are quite aware that I'm far from perfect, and sadly a rather poor witness, but I do try to allow my Loving Master to change my heart and attitudes..

If I have wronged you, or hurt your feelings, or just been obnoxious, I do pray your forgiveness, and ask my Master to share His abundant love and life with each of you and your beautiful wives and children...

for those of you who are alone, I pray especially for you this Easter,, I have been there, and know this, I am here for you Brother, anytime day or night, I hope each of you will recognize that I am extending my hand in friendship and goodwill, to those of you who extended me grace and kindness I pray for a double blessing in your life, and to those who consider me a frenemy, to you brothers I pray for your life and health and peace, I really do, I can't begin to tell each of you of the good will I have for each of you, feel free to remind me when I fail, and I will try harder!

I just talked to my grandson, poopeye, and he's been on liberty in San Diego since Saturday. He's having much fun. He's Temporary Assigned Duty aboard CVN-74 for training. The reason is so he can get trained up for his rating. I think he will be aboard CVN-74 until June....don't quote me on that...I love to talk to him..I really do...sniff...sniff...

That's awesome Popeye, no doubt it makes you proud to sense that old "Sea Dog" Gene being Navalized by your Grandson Poopeye,, that's just beyond word "to KOOL!".

Thanks AFB...I stated that the little fellow in the photo was "poopeye's" step brother. Actually he's his half brother...they have a great family.

Yippee I'm tax free for the rest of the year.

Sunday night into early Monday morning we had a heavy thunderstorm complete with many lightning strikes. This is normal in Iowa. Even in the winter. Yes we have thundersnow. Enywhoo..lightning struck the water pumps for the well that feeds our chill water for the AC/heating in our building. Hence no AC!!! We live on the third floor and it is warm up here. We have all the ceiling fans going. Maintenance men are replacing the pumps as I write this. The word is they will be finished by Noon...
