Jeff, I have to say that after reading your posts I realize that I complain too much and I need to be more grateful for what the good Lord gives us. We will continue to pray for you my brother. You have gone through so much. Please keep us informed as to your health and thank you for sharing your tribulation.

We all face hardship of one kind or another at various points in life. Health, accidents, broken hearts, financial issues, hunger, intolerance, etc., etc., etc.

But despite all...and despite how hard it may become...as long as we have our intellect and mental capacity, we still get to decide in our hearts how we respond to it.

I believe those decisions are the most important decisions we make...no matter what our station in life is and no matter what our tribulation. And I believe that those decisions are the things that go with us...through life and beyond...and they are the ones that really make a difference.

Silvestre, as someone who is surviving very serious cancer right now...I would urge you to avoid smoking...or to try and stop.

I know it is easy to get hooked and addicted...and I know for younger folks in many places it is cool. But believe me, there is nothing cool about cancer and what it does to you.

I know I am an "old" guy in my late 50s, but again, my advise would be to not do anything that is known to lead to cancer.

But each has to make their own decisions in this and that is just my own advise.

If you live in the US watch out for and warn your parents. The phone scammers are out again. Last year was Indians posing as IRS agents demanding money. Now it's the computer scam. Something about tech support and they want remote access to do whatever. Well I was the one who answered my mother's phone where the guy from India tells me something about my mother's computer problem. I let him finish and explain everything and then I in a very wise-ass tone mentioned my mother didn't own a computer so how can she have a problem? Instead of just hanging up, the guy exploded out in anger cussing. He got angry because I didn't fall for the scam?

About the IRS scam. There was another call months later and they were using the Siri-type computer voice. Yeah the accent doesn't really come across seriously especially when they're bad in English. They know when their English is bad when they have to resort to a computer voice to scam money.

Yeah, I got the Indian IRS calls a couple times. The first time, I had no idea of the scam, but thought it was weird that IRS would call me instead of sending a formal letter. So I asked the guy to verify my address for me. I said "since you are with the IRS, you should have my address. So could you verify it for me?" The guy gave me a random address and I knew immediately that it was a scam. So I hang up. Then he called again and "warned" me with very stern voice of serious consequences for hanging up on an IRS official. I started laughing and told him that I have his phone # showing on my phone and I would call the police if he called again. then I googled his # (a DC #) and found out about the Indian IRS scam...

Then a couple weeks later, I got another call. This time a FL #. Same Indian accent. He told me he's with the IRS. Before he could say anything else, I just said " no, you are not!" Then I hang up...

Thank you air...and yes indeed, they are beautiful and can be exercised no matter what conditions we face.

Indeed, my Son in Law made his first jump as a Paratrooper in ten years, I imagine the kids are calling him "Gramps" or "Pop", he's in Cali, so they have been to the beach a few times. I think they are a little homesick right now!

Made his first jump out a 130 Sunday, and Monday or Tuesday was a couple of hours from Ft. Bragg?? I was born in Fayetteville, NC. in May of 1956, my Dad was one of the first ACs on the 130A way back then, and he flew a lot of jumps at Ft. Bragg's drop zone, seems like yesterday that I was reading the Dash-1 as my first primer??? I'm rather certain I could have pulled the fire handles from about 5 years old??? first pull for the first shot, twist handle 90 degrees if the 1st shot didn't work, and pull for another shot.
