What's that optic mounted infront of the QMK152/QMK-171? Isn't it blocking the original scope's view? (a photo op prehaps..)
I would believe it would only block the lower half of the sight similar to how soldiers had it with the M4A1.

Probably I guess...though putting a extra optic infront still doesn't make much sense as it both makes the optic itself virtually useless and also blocks half the QMK152/QMK-171's view (it might be a weird looking IR laser though, which is the only possible explanation I could think of)

It is definitely a photo op done by camera personal that just think it looks cool. This happened before with PAP personal who put a M68 clone (I think) in front of another optic.

I don’t think so. In the second photo, the red dot obscures the QMK much more than a PEQ does. Plus a red dot isn’t supposed to be there anyway.

If you look at this image, the exact same "optic" mounted infront of the QMK152/QMK-171 is also seen placed under the Type-92 pistol. Based on this, it seems that rather than being an optic, the weird piece of accessory is in fact a multipurpose pistol Light / laser pointer. If this is the case, the PAP / photographer's choice of accessory becomes even weirder with the idea of why the hell would they mount a literal pistol light at the front of a 192 carbine..... Guess we'll never understand

It could be that they weren't provided the side rails attachment for the photo shoot and were not too worried about taking "realistic" pictures so they just went with what they had. They always tend to put a medium amount of effort into these and I suppose this time it's no different.
