Yes, it's specific to paratroopers and likely will be phased out.

Nice image, though it just makes me like the prototype upper receiver more. That one didn't have the ugly rear iron sights. I do like everything else in the final product compared to the prototype.
Since it is part of a college basic training (军训), a female drill sergeant should have shouted "this is NOT how you handle a rifle. A rifle is a rifle, not a bazooka!" And make her and all those students (boys and girls) who handle the rifles like bazookas, put their fingers on the triggers without being ready to shoot, or point the weapons at other people do 50 pushups and run 3k without mercy.
