This was just posted 30 min ago. It's an armor piercing round fired from a PTL02. Unless of course this is China's notorious creative editing.

It's not creative editing or at least I'm not sure why we'd suspect that it's anything like that -- it's just that the footage of the target being destroyed was incorrectly interpreted as something more than it was (i.e.: just a shot from an anti tank gun of a tank destroyer)

I mean you would have to be reaching quite hard to see that target being destroyed and automatically want to put it in the laser/rail gun thread... common sense would suggest it is probably something far less exotic.

Quickie

Colonel
not necessarily, the object being shot isn't exactly a single solid structure but rather a vehicle made up of lots of hinges and individual parts like doors and such. Depending on the type of ammunition and the exact location of the shot, I think having the source of the fire come from the right side of the footage makes sense, considering the debris which is flying off seems to the door.

Also, I think there's a CCTV clip which this is a part of, which shows it is part of a PTL02 anti tank gun exercise.

You can actually go through the video footage frame by frame by moving the tab below.
The bright yellow streak of smoke, possibly the remaining parts of the ammunition, appears only after 2 or 3 frames after start of the explosion.

I think we are overanalyzing what I think has clearly been demonstrated to be just an anti tank round.

I don't know

It's just the disturbance and/or heat friction of the movement of the shell through the air and the tiny bits of dust floating in the air.

The camera is not at a high enough frame rate to be able to see a true slow motion footage shell pass through the air and into the target and to have everything explode and appear in a sensible sequence so it looks like the target explodes before the streak behind the shell appears.

But in reality it's what a normal high speed kinetic projectile looks like. It's really not that exotic

thanks ... I was just waiting for my chicken stake to arrive, so I looked here ... in the meantime I used google to translate the caption of #1 from the gallery you posted Today at 7:50 AM
