After a short trip to the sea, the Chinese LST carrying the new naval electromagnetic gun returned near the Wuhan Bridge today. And obviously they did not appreciate that the system is photographed ...

Gosh. The police's suicide-prevention squad will have a hard time, suddenly with scores of people walking along the bridge with their long lenses.

Could simply be for ventilation.
There will probably be lots of heat generated for a rail/coilgun running high amps. It can be a simple ventilation outlet:

Or heat-exchanger type with minimised penetration to be more weatherproof.

So the guided round for EM gun is not only possible, but also a reality, otherwise there is no need to simulate it to this much detail.

sorry if I missed something again :), but what's known about "a short trip to the sea" (where? how long?).
it's easier to test fire somewhere near wuhan smooth river waters instead of a sea.
any army artillery range with instrumentation system and targets nearby?
upon return they seem to be busy with the ... barrel, right? change it? fix it?
