The fact that this allows shield and rifle pairing already shows that it probably is a massive reduction in arm stamina/strength requirement, transfering the load to the waist.

Now just pair this up with the leg braces and it could be a potential winner.

It will be interesting to see the possibilities of the pairing, however, I wonder how a rifle with conventional layout would affect the shield-rifle pairing... since the bullpup would offer better balance

Interesting question. Bullpups being more centered on weight distribution would definitely work better than a conventional rifle. But there is no way either setup can reload with a shield.

I think it's more of showing off an opportunity than a real doctrine. First guy in got a shield and way more firing power with a auto rifle instead of a pistol. They don't actually know what they can do with the armor yet.

Also considering China's got millions of 097s they probably just grabbed one to show off. Even if they do adopt this setup in future, there will still be plenty of 97s sitting around for the rare case they decide to go with this.

Seems like a passive exoskeleton to me.

I dont see the rationale on bringing active/powered exoskeletons to firefighters when the cost is so expensive. Not worth it

Passive exoskeletons would be very beneficial though as with carrying all that equipment, moving etc, a better and cheaper way to distribute all this weight would be helpful for the firefighters
