But one reason I want to share about his particular video is that the guest talked about censorship in China. It reminded me of an idea I had about the difference in political censorship between the West and China. In the West, certain political opinions are censored from mainstream media (we all know what some examples might be), but China's censors have a much broader and vaguer coverage. Yet China's focus is not on banning these opinions but on not allowing extreme opinions. It requires people to be more thoughtful about what they say, which I think contributed to China being less divided than the West today.
