This guy is pretty objective, I've followed his channel for over a year now. He judged the Hongqi correctly since its designed to compete against BMW/Merc. He actually good things to say about chinese cars in the $20-30K range. He also talks about design consideration differences between West and China, like how in China people care more about interior material feel but in the west they care about driver dynamics.

He is very much a fan of Chinese EVs though, especially vis a vis tesla.

Not a huge fan of the talking head westerner in China youtube stuff! Not sure why there needs to be validation of somewhere by western faces.

Youtube's algorithm is pretty biased, do a search for 'Chinese Vaccine' and see what I mean!

Did came across this channel on youtube which has some interesting documentaries including which looks like its from a South African media company, which sounds very Australian.

Where I live, the border is closed. Haha!

Right now, some guy or girl walking around China with their cell phone is the best way to get a sense of what it is like on the ground. What the streets are like, daily life, etc.

The pictures we see are the main thing. The commentary, some are good, some are boring.

What really strikes me, is that these white people are happy. That is genuine.

When you live long enough in a white society, you realize people aren't exactly happy.

These videos, like holy shit, happy white people. Impossible!

That part I still cannot get over that. LOL.

All the videos in the thread are hosted by either Western expats or Asians of Western descent. There is a food channel hosted by a Chinese guy from Xi’an that actually shows what goes on from a tourist point of view at a rural Xinjiang bazaar.


If there is a English video of this it would be great.
