I was going to say it looked like a baby H-6 too... Which apparently it is. XD .

Now I guess the question is, why?

Decoys for possible future conflict, to waste enemy's smart munition?

That thing probably cost $100 to make, how much does a 2000lb JDAM cost?

Well, the delta could be either a F-102, F106, Mirage series or Kfir/Nesher and derivatives...

Hello everyone
I have just completed a little research into this plane and I think I know what it is. I measured the length and width and may have ID it. The plane maybe an IL-102. This is a version that lost out to the SU-25. China may now be looking into a real attack aircraft. Russia may have sold this type to China for testing. This will be really interesting to keep an eye on. Great find!
It is really interesting that the model is the exact size of the IL-102. I have always wondered why China has not built a real attack aircraft. I do have a question. Is this aircraft used to train the bomber pilots somehow.

Er... China had a dedicated ground attack aircraft - Nanchang Q-5. Although this aircraft was developed from the Mig-19, but it was redesigned with ground attack as its primary (and I believe, only) role.

The Q-5 might not be of the same effectiveness as compared to the Su-25, or the IL-102, but it served China well. At present moment this aircraft would be replaced by perhaps JH-7 and soon the WZ-10 attack chopters (I think).
