055 is a destroyer, not a cruiser.

This myth needs to die. Neither the 052 family nor 055 have dedicated space for the air-def commander. He resides in and conducts his duties from the carrier. There's a reason all Chinese carriers are equipped with the same air defence radars as their AAW destroyers; there's a guy onboard that needs them.

The 055 is not a cruiser by the definition of both the people who make and use them and the ones watching from across the pond.

Could you please link the source to this image

I noticed it is way off for some things, like Chinese sub displacement as compared to @Matheus S postings
In this graph, they probably considered the submerged displacement of the submarine which is greater, I put the total displacement of the submarine on the surface, the displacement of the ship itself. There is no reason to put the tonnage of the submarine when it is submerged.

Just out of curiosity, this year alone, the following cruisers will be decommissioned from the US Navy fleet:
CG-56(San Jacinto) on September 30, 2022
CG-57(Lake Champlain) on March 31, 2022
CG-61(Monterey) on February 22, 2022
CG-66(Hué City) on March 31, 2022
CG-68(Anzio) on March 31, 2022
CG-72(Vella Gulf) on February 18, 2022
CG-73(Port Royal) on March 31, 2022

I will not extend this conversation talking about the US Navy because the topic is the PLAN. I just posted it for comparison purposes.

I think that's because it is the default almost everywhere. IMO you should change it all to submerged displacement so we can get an appropriate comparison. Everyone will be confused otherwise.

What's the total tonnage of US Navy?

I have calculated this before. Since I think it would be interesting to compare and watch as China catches up in capability, numbers, and displacement, I hope this one time off-topic post isn't deleted and is allowed to be updated just once a year, simply to provide for a basis of comparison between Chinese naval stats and American naval stats. I don't think this kind of data for both navies exists anywhere in such a comprehensive fashion (for both navies with two different users updating each country!) so would appreciate it if this would be allowed. Data is only outdated by one year. I will update it again next month to account for the changes in the last year, and will do so for every year thereafter in the same month of the year.

Feel free to give input or correct any mistakes everyone. Also @Matheus S it would be interesting for you to include all Chinese vessels from all branches not just the Navy so we can get a full accounting of both the US and Chinese fleets. This is in metric tons, which I assume yours is as well, and subs are in submerged displacement as is the norm.

Beginning-year 2021 all US Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Military Sealift Command, and Maritime Administration ships:

It's a huge list so if you just want the short of it (fleet displacement and totals for each branch) here it is:

ARMY: 77 ships (71,473.2 metric tons total)

COAST GUARD: 407 ships (201,937.5 metric tons total)

NAVY: 470 ships (3,993,364.7 metric tons total)

MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND: 125 ships (4,246,562 metric tons total)

US MARITIME ADMINISTRATION: 69 ships (2,460,125 metric tons total)

IN RESERVE: 8 ships (244,851 metric tons total)
