PLAN container ship thread

They probably have some ways of battery swapping, by having supplies ships replenishing with a new batch of batteries. There is no need to recharge those lithium batteries.

1) Many new ships will be powered by ammonia or hydrogen, most will be driving electric motors. So there's a power source available for recharging batteries for ships carrying modules that require a lot of power.

2) Many of these types of ships will be relatively small, capable of going very far inland, so they can be built and equipped in more inland ports like Wuhan.

It has dawned on me that one potential use of this container missile carrier would be a low cost trip-wire force in a Taiwan AR scenario.

Assume that PLA goes for Taiwan, and would like to cordon off an area, it can place a number of these containerships with anti-air/surface/submarine capabilities out east of Taiwan. if the US wants to intervene in Taiwan, it will have to first expose its intent by taking out these ships, which would not do much to degrade PLA's main force. if the US ignores these ships in the opening salvo, then its own assets are in danger. essentially, a cheap way to deny a coup-de-main by the US.

I wont opine too much on this system except suggest that there is a Taiwan Strait wide gap between PRC companies pitching ideas and PLA taking them up on it. In a similar vein we have yet to find out for instance how PLAN would intend to utilise something like JARI-A/Orca, or whether they even have any interest at all in this design.

Consider that one angle here may well be that companies try to jump on fielding more relevant tech such as the EM-cat for demo'ing adaptions of such technology to foreign customers far too poor to afford a full scale EM Cat LHD etc. A notion.

We can go one step further with this idea and place containers next to Guam, Hawaii, Diago Garcia and CONUS both east and west coast. Any US first strike on Chinese assets results in immediate destruction of all American bases and assets globally while subsequent loss of these ships can be written off.

Spreading them out geographically plus obfiscuating their identity also prevent US from trying to take all of these ships out on first strike.

This is the kind of map you want to start with:

Screenshot of realtime AIS map above.

You need to have good OpSec to hide something like at least 6 to 7 Panamax freighters, make them look like doing regular blue milk run in that traffic, nothing that'd raise any flag in Langley or Pentagon...at least not until they reached their respective designated position.

That's gonna be quite a feat because even China has only a few fully automated cargo terminal to keep unwanted attention to the minimum.

Hi,
is it possible to park these containers before the start of conflict and forget about it
until the real time scenario arises you load these containers on the ships & of cource
destination is not like a real time travelling from Chinese ports etc or coming from Chinese
sides may be some one with more knowledge can be able to materialise or not
thank you
