An example that is remotely relevant: DCNS is a shipyard but they specialize in engineering parts... well Airbus contracted them (yes, a shipyard) to design and construct parts of the landing gear in titanium:
I think it does make sense if that "building" is steel and the shipyard specializes in cutting and assembling large steel modules.Even if that were the case, it makes almost zero sense to fabricate a building at a shipyard
