An antiship missile should have a semi-AP warhead, kind of like an artillery round inside the missile. The warhead itself inside the missile is shaped for penetration and the fuse should be on the back of the warhead, which should be inertial. So the impact happens the back of the warhead ignites and sends the shell penetrating into the ship.

The fire control systems on the Type 022 would have to be upgraded for this, just as they would need to on the 056 and 054A. To operate, a digital image of the target ship would have to be downloaded from a database in the ship's computer to the missile’s guidance computer. This YJ-83 doesn't work on the thermal homing principle as the YJ-83 with the dimple for a thermal homing seeker. The imaging infrared takes the image of the target ship and compares it to the one that's uploaded from the database and stored in the missile's computer. If the image is a match, the missile then homes in on the target. This kind of homing system is much more difficult to fool or decoy with flares.

that is like a very basic but useful application of machine learning

Maybe a stupid question, but can can anyone explain, why the CM-400AKG is so often called an export version or derivate of the YJ-12?

Is this just the typical "once posted and then always copied & pasted" reason or did I miss something?
