Considering the recent controversy of the M18/P320 misfires, does anyone know if there is any record of the current PLA's pistol QSG-92/92G suffering from misfires?
It honestly does not matter for the US military AT ALL that the P320 accidentally discharges -- sidearms account for exactly 0% of wartime casualties. If there were issues the the QSG series, the PLA would a) not tell anyone, and b) not care at all.Considering the recent controversy of the M18/P320 misfires, does anyone know if there is any record of the current PLA's pistol QSG-92/92G suffering from misfires?
I think they would care since it's not just the military that uses it. I remember the jam has something to do with the dual feed mechanism made for the 5.8 pistol cartridge? The major problem with the 92 is simple: poor materials and manufacturing precision result in poor part interchangeability because it is ridiculously cheap. Problem with the early 9mm 92 was that the feed mechanism caused jams, rather than misfires.
92G and 92A/B have improved considerably and have no major issues, but nothing special either.

Yes, the double-stack, double-feed design of the 92 was originally for 5.8mm, the 9mm version didn't match well, so it was changed to double-stack, single-feed in the 92G.I remember the jam has something to do with the dual feed mechanism made for the 5.8 pistol cartridge?
Just for the record. The latest on the USAF incident is that another Airmen has been arrested and is being charged with Obstruction of Justice for filing a false report and Involuntary Manslaughter. Meaning rather than a technical issue it may have been a training issue. Of course it remains to be seen.Considering the recent controversy of the M18/P320 misfires, does anyone know if there is any record of the current PLA's pistol QSG-92/92G suffering from misfires?
