looks kinda like the pkm style but using a short stroke gas piston ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ that's just my guess.Sorry if this is pretty sudden, but can anyone explain how QJY-201 GPMG action is supposed to operate?

I found on reddit and I just couldn't figure out how it works, or if it's even correct.

If that's the case, then the animation is wrong since the BCG is clearly unlocked and travelling backward before the barrel recoils.
The BCG latch into the moving barrel assembly during the rearward travel, the extra weight of the barrel and resistance from the barrel spring slow down the BCG before slamming into buffer thus reducing felt recoil.
The animation is accurate, the BCG only latch into the barrel during the last few length of travel to prevent it from slamming to the rear of receiver.I

I do have a question for your hypothesis though. If the BCG is coupled with the barrel during rearward recoil (presumably with a barrel extension), then why there's a gas piston on the BCG?
Couldn't they just use normal short recoil to unlock the bolt and cycle the action?
@Cabbage any thoughts?
Oh damn. Sorry I didn't notice that there's a bulge on the BCG that hooks onto the flanges of the barrelThe animation is accurate, the BCG only latch into the barrel during the last few length of travel to prevent it from slamming to the rear of receiver.
It is a long stroke piston operation with a recoil mechanism. Barrel's inertia is used for slowing down the bolt carrier's backward movement which decreases felt recoil.Sorry if this is pretty sudden, but can anyone explain how QJY-201 GPMG action is supposed to operate?
