Why is the last one shorter?

I think it’s a .338 Norma casing for comparison.
If accurate from long to short the 8.6mm class would be .338 Lupua magnum at 8.6x70mm, 8.6 Chinese at 8.6x65mm. Then .338 Norma magnum in 8.6x63mm along with 338-06/.338 Winchester magnum. And at the bottom With 8.6x43mm Blackout. There are are probably a dozen more obscure wildcat cartridges here but simplicities sake.

The shorter one is the casing for the machine gun round. See here for more info.

PAP speed shooting.

Two things I noticed about the video:

When we see the close up of the group being shot, I'm a little surprised that they chose the guy that they chose to highlight. He's got quite a pronounced flinch on the trigger (you can see 3-4 shots on the target going progressively down and to the left on the silhouette).

When they are showing the firearms stabilization exercise, it's a bit of form over function going on there. I understand that they are seeking to highlight how long some of these PAP members can hold their guns out, but in doing so they are allowing these troops to develop bad habits with their shooting positions (you see the pronounced backwards lean and forward hip thrust that they all have). The instructor also doesn't seem to be correcting them (on screen or off) so I question how useful of a exercise it is.

Heh, wouldn't mind some of those handguards making their way to Canada so we could slap them on our Type 81's (but in Mlok XD ).

CQB training video, this looks super professional for once. Does anybody know more about it? Uniforms suggest it’s one of the PAP teams

Slick video. Nice to see how their CQB tactics have improved over the years. Lots of barrels first around the doors without eyes being able to see what might be there though. They also seem to be moving a bit faster than they might be able to fight, though I wonder if that could simply be because they know they are being filmed and thus want to look slicker than slick, lol.

Man, I have to say, so many of the individual CQB drills are similar if not exactly the same between western and Chinese forces, especially with CQB. The biggest difference seems to be the speed at which the forces seem to be moving. In these types of videos in the west, you very rarely see troops running within a building, where as in the demo we see here, the assaulting forces seem to have quite a bit of haste moving through the bottom floor. Having never trained with PRC forces, I wonder if it's a difference in doctrine and tactics (speed and aggression vs smooth thoroughness) or just a result of these forces having taken this particular building a hundred times before.

Although I have to say, the OpFor in the house clearing drill could have put up a bit more of a fight, lol.
