Definitely a modernized SMG. Strong MP5 inspiration, but with polymer construction.
Top model is clearly a collapsing stock. Middle is a folder with a rather odd choice of ACOG clone. I mean 1) The rear sight interferes and 2) why would you need 3x magnification on a sub gun? It's 9x19mm anything past 50 meters you should have brought a rifle.
Third fixed stock again with a magnifying optic. In this case though the system is a red dot with add on magnifier.

Fairly evident that LR30 and LR27 are re-hashes of the Norinco CQ.

nothing wrong with some more modernized gas piston AR-15s on the market...

the single piece free floating handguard looks nice, and the stocks don't seem half bad either.

With all the lessons that norinco at any rate have been able to demonstrate with building CQs variants and modernized of Type 81 and CS/LR 17, I expect something decent from the new service rifle, assuming the PLA had the money to spend a bit more on ergonomics and flexibility

If the supposedly-rejected design can be developed into what the CS/LR17 has become, then the QBZ-XX can't be all that bad.

I'm not sure why we're only seeing one export-oriented design when twenty have been assessed (and most rejected I presume).
