Fatty said the 105mm gun is the same 105 rifled gun from Type-15 with minor improvements.

Type-100 series's main requirements is air transport capability, hence the tight weight requirements.

He believes there is another yet undisclosed vehicle in the Type-100 family to provide strong enough fire power to compensate for the relatively weak 105mm gun of ZTZ-100 and limited atgm magazine of ZBD-100

Dedicated ATGM carrier on the same chassis would be consistent with previous vehicle families.

I think using a rifled gun is a big mistake. Look at what the Soviets did with the T-62. They rebored the gun eliminating the rifling and got a higher caliber smoothbore gun.

Maybe China thinks advance of ATGM and etc meant it is no longer worth it to use smoothbore to get better APFSDS performance at cost of worse HE performance?
