With newer technologies and engineering tolerances, the gun will likely be a lot higher pressure than current guns. This reduces the need for an extractor. On top of that it's also unmanned inside but keeping it clean is surely still ideal to prevent fouling. I think the high pressure alone is enough extraction
What is the overall big picture assessment of the new tank design? Is it a good design? Will it be effective?
Well it is innovative in many ways but who knows how it would do in practice.

Don´t know about rumors but I speculated about that last week on this very forum. I don´t see anything on the turret bustle indicating the presence of a Leclerc-like autoloader there.
Probably better suited to current combat doctrines than Cold War or early 2000s designs but probably not radical enough to be fully suitable.
Whatever it is using, its not a bustle autoloader. Problems with the upright carousel autoloader hypothesis is that type 100 unlike the Armata doesn't seem to have the vehicle height required for rotating rounds by 90 degrees easily.
