"The US Air Force needs to “make sure we get to six-gen air dominance at least a month prior to our competitors,” Kelly said."
From 2 decades to a month.
I was wondering about that sentence as well. What good is a month? In the scheme of how long it takes to develop a fighter, even a year isn't signigicant. A month is less than a rounding error; having your first 6th gen delivered a month before the other guy in a maritime environment is basically a child's game, rushing what shouldn't be rushed to say "Me first!""The US Air Force needs to “make sure we get to six-gen air dominance at least a month prior to our competitors,” Kelly said."

I can't believe what I have just read. Are you sure this was not a prank by the editor?"The US Air Force needs to “make sure we get to six-gen air dominance at least a month prior to our competitors,” Kelly said."

I think it is a prank because I have literally done similar things to writers whom I hated. For example, when I was an editor at my university, I literally changed the wordings/dictions of professors (mostly liberals who believed that China should kow-tow to western political culture, capital, and "handsome English gentlemen," while making lives hard to students from the countryside or lacked connections) whom I hate when they submitted their opinions pieces. The chief editor did not catch me. In China, it is called 高级黑, or high-skilled humiliation. That might be a slip of the tongue, but the whole piece feels more like some healthy respect for Chinese capability and track records than hyping-up of Chinese threat to get more funding - NGAD is a priority program and there is no shortage of funding.
Reminds me of this:I think it is a prank because I have literally done similar things to writers whom I hated. Apology for being off topic, but I am not surprised given the current political climate in the good old USA.
As a handsome English gentleman I object to your behaviour!I think it is a prank because I have literally done similar things to writers whom I hated. Nononono… you underestimated the importance of “being the first.” Getting it out even one minute ahead of your competitor would grant the internet trolls on your side the eternal right to accuse the other side of being a copycat. We all know bragging right on the Web is the sole true reason behind all the struggles between the superpowers. /sI can't believe what I have just read.
