sure, but not sure how we know its Gallium Oxide just from the photo.

They are developing this capability, but we are still far away from knowing they actually have it or when it enters service.

Its size is almost as same as 055's radar, or even smaller. If it's indeed a next-gen radar going to be equipped on next-gen DDG/CG, I can't come up with other ways to achieve better capacity besides changing its T/R component from GaN to GaO. Unnecessary to test it with so much effort if it's still a GaN radar, it has to be sth new.

Well new large sized radar and seemingly new mega-VLS, I'd say it's a clear sign of next generation DDG/CG in the works. IMO more likely for the rumored 055 replacement than the next generation general purpose DDG.

Just see the bottom half of the pic, there are several very deep VLS !?

No wonder many are saying it also showcases a super VLS type with 1m radius, 12m depth. Only got it until I looked in the pic very carefully.

The radar & VLS are currently installed on vessel 856.

The pic was from CCTV, which was released a week ago. It wasn't noticed until some fanboys looked into it in every detail days later.

Vessel 856 is a naval weapon test vessel, aka type 910.

If I have such eyeballing abilities, then I'd be a distinguished aerospace engineering professor at Caltech right now.
