3 Strategic ships commisioned in single event
In summer of 2020 there were some news headlines that China commissioned two more 094 class subs. Those would be 5th and 6th overall.
Given that there were no images of a seventh sub building in recent years, is it prudent to conclude that the 6th sub was not active back then and that it was in fact commissioned only now?

Well my guess is 7 more Type 52D, 6 more type 55, 2 more LHD, maybe 1 more subs, 2 more Type 54,
My interpretation as well, I think originally Janes claimed this but we didn't have an official ceremony back then. Also given that submarine arms are usually the most secretive branch it is possible that the commissioning occurs only after them being in service for some time.
Though I should add that zh.wiki which I respect somewhat for serial numbers and launch/commissioning data gives 3 serial numbers 417, 420, 421 for recently constructed ones so maybe we have missed something?

I hope they speeding up the commissioning of new ships seem like forever too long there are still more to go

China Commissions A Type 055 DDG, A Type 075 LHD And A Type 094 SSBN In A Single Day
In a what is likely a first ever, China yesterday commissioned three major vessels into the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) fleet: A Type 055 Destroyer (NATO designation: Renhai-class cruiser), a Type 075 LHD (NATO designation: Yushen-class) and a Type 094 SSBN (NATO Designation: Jin-class).
