PLA missile defense system

Grafical illustration of the NOTAM posted above. A realy long area at over 2.200km long, but rather narrow. Extending from the surface all the way up into space.
I don't know which PLA missile facilities are actually situated in that area, but I think that one known BM target site is just south of the corridor.

I really think China should increase its capability to shoot down cruise missiles. Recently US Navy sailed Tomahawk-carrying SSBNs within striking range of China, with each of them holding 154 Tomahawks.>_<

Also, Taiwan and SKorea are also fielding LACMs with ranges of 1000kms, so China needs to build more underground aircraft shelters at their Air Bases to defend against LACM attack as well as researching rapid-firing electric-controlled guns.

Cruise missiles are a hell lot easier to deal with than ballistic missiles, buddy.

I have a feeling he's trying to refer to rail guns here. :)

But gallaghan does have a point -- an en masse cruise missile attack could knock out vital command and control centres. Espicially if launched from SSGNs -- could see something like desert storm.


China has the technology with the type 730, they just need to pump them out and place them in an integrated network with AWACS and ground based radar, etc.
Or even better, wait a decade and see them roll out a laser CIWS ;) (though to be honest I think this may be possible)

Rail gun technology is highly experimental. CIWS can fulfill the role of anti-cruise missile and it is a proven technology.

Does anyone know if China has any anti-mortar or hard anti-ATGM systems? Either bought or developed indigenously? Those can be thought of as miniaturized ABM and anti-cruise missile systems.

Semi-related topic, does China have the equivalent of a mini-gun?

China has plenty of miniguns, there's one on some of those special force jeeps and I think latest variant of the ZTZ-99 has a RWCS armed with a minigun too.
