Most likely true. Wouldn't have so many people paying attention to it if it wasn't. It's too niche a thing to be made up and corruption in Chinese leadership and industry is almost cultural. Things like this is why the Japanese used obsolete Japanese vessels to sink the Chinese navy using the latest and greatest imported German ones of that time, pre-WW2 Sino Japanese war. The corrupt Chinese commanders sold the guns off to pay off gambling debts.

偷工减料 is rife in the industries. It may not apply to every single one but compared to western nations and Japan/Korea, China has a long way to go before this culture can be eradicated and it needs to be. Really pathetic. Goes back to Chinese people needing to one up each other with brand names and outward expressions of wealth. Primitive thinking. When can we get rid of these attitudes. It really holds China back. Why are the executives fired and not executed? They must have friends in high places.

Can you imagine Chinese ICBMs being equally compromised? Yikes.
I wouldn't be so quick to take the story presented in the article at face value, considering its from a literal Falun gong mouthpiece.

Right off the bat, it presents the rumor of the armor of Mengshis deployed on the Sino-Indian border being perforated resulting in death of PLA personnel. If it's the case of the Mengshi in the video we saw a few months ago, as the article seems to imply, then it seems to be a another case of "supa jawans" considering the Indians in that engagement were only using batons, sticks, and rocks in accordance to the agreement. If it was another engagement off camera involving the use of small arms it also wouldn't make sense since it would have resulted in a larger escalation that would very likely have been reported.

There might be some truth to the article, as I've seen videos showing off poor quality control on older Dongfengs in PLA service, but as it stands it seems like NTD is following their track record of being 90% bullshit.

无耻谰言 is rife in the propaganda. It may not apply to every single word you said. You have a long way to go before have a rational mind and it needs to be.

Even if this isolated example is untrue, China still suffers from the mentality that I talked about. It's elites still too motivated by promise of riches to always be infallible. 90% bullshit would mean 10% of it is true. What if this is one of those truthful reports? lol I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if this is true and why is that? Because it's pretty rife in Chinese society.

Please put your own pants back on. If it weren't for SanLu like scandals and a history of shit like this being rife, I would also have written it off immediately. Only because it's so common, I said I wouldn't be surprised. Where in my post did I say this is true?? It was clear my personal judgement would be this is probably true because it's unfortunately common.

Immediate personal judgement base on fake information due to it is so common.

Have to give you thumb up for the quick reaction and the demonstration.

I do agree that corruption is still a big issue in China, but rumors (ones that don't even pass the sniff test) that got picked up by some Falun gong rag isn't exactly a good hill to die on for proving your point lol

Might as well start doom posting about the three gorges at that point

You were the one who posted a personal attack because you don't like something I said.

There's a difference between posting lies about three gorges and reacting to content like that. We can all agree corruption is still a big issue and it wouldn't surprise anyone if the vehicle manufacturer is cutting corners. I didn't write that article or share it. I didn't even say it's true. Someone posted it and asked the thread and I responded with saying my personal judgement is that it probably is true simply because this seems to be a systemic problem in China still despite things having improved. This clearly was enough to get all the sensitive people's panties in a twist.

I'm glad someone came out to say this is a FLG media. I think that would have been enough. Correct my opinion about this issue and move on. Besides the underlying problems are obviously still there. Proving this is a FLG source doesn't prove the allegation isn't true or that China doesn't have a history of these sorts of scandals. Even the Japanese have with the relatively recent Nippon Steel scandal.
