Whether a specific display is made in Japan or China is not clear, nor of a meaningful matter as PLA won't waste something they bought years ago just for the sake of nationalistic sentiment. The reality is that China is the number one maker of LCD displays of all sizes today. BOE even supply LCD panels to LG and Samsung.
