Well I just hope for their sakes that the clerks are not required to wear their uniforms on a regular basis. A coloured scarf is not going to discourage stray shrapnel.

A few interesting photos of Chinese PLA's opposing force (OPFOR) simulating a typical NATO "heavy company" during recent military exercises. OPFORs, typically known as "blue army" by the Chinese as compared to red used by NATO, are systems of units trained to imitate potential hostiles to better prepare the military against conflicts.

If anyone has HBO, check out this month's episode of Real Sports. They have a story on Russia's Army Games that's discussed regularly in this forum when the event occurs. They're upset that these games might be a front to recruit and sell weapons... They charge that countries might get locked into a relationship with Russia because they'll have to buy Russian parts for maintenance... They're upset that children are exposed to these games... They don't like that countries that the US has embargoes participate in these games. In the end the host asks the journalist if Russia even invites the US and Western allies to the games as if he already knows the answer is "no" because the Russians don't want to be embarrassed when they lose. The journalist tells him that the Russians goads the US to come every time.

First time I've seen this type of tracked MRL with a cab in PLA service.
This image doesn't sit right with me... some of the rockets look photoshopped. The rocket blast has an unaturally hard border... some rockets are more pixilated than the others. The blast of the 2nd and 3rd rocket (left to right) look exactly the same.
