Well, I know of course RC plane is not the real thing, however just like real planes it still have to follow the concept of aerodynamic and physics, and RC mode can be a good indicator. The only issue with J-20 with its maneuverability is with its weaker engines.

yes, and I'm saying that claiming that we can extrapolate J-20s performance from an RC model which only looks vaguely similar, would be an argument that weakens the overall position about J-20's maneuverability or air superiority role rather than strengthens it.

Impressive firepower and modern land system. Not sure if this is Zhurihe

Is helicopter in general a lot easier to make than fix wing planes? Because it feels like from prototype of J-10 to induction and mass production took forever, but from first flight of Z-10 and Z-19, then you blink and you see them in service everywhere within half decade.

I like how the PLA integrates their weapons system into any branches of their services.
I mean why just limit CIWS and VLS to a ship when it can be just effective for the land forces.

I don't think so the development path of Z-10 is tortuous to say the least it is more than a decade in development
There is confusion who is going to built it First it was Harbin but then they are too busy switch to Changhe

Then there is the engine selection confusion First they used Pratt and Whitney engine for the prototype But then the US interfere and verboten the use of P&W engine They have to design WZ 9 engine another long wait. Then the slim down Z10 show up

Started around 2000 and inducted in 2014 or 2015

It is their first attempt to built heli from scratch and they don't have the software to design the heli so they have to contract the preliminary design to Kamov But they built the prototype on their own and test, improve

Those last 2 pics are indeed action figure, in US outfit. Either it's typical CCTV screw up, or something else...if you can point me to the video clip that screencap came from I can tell you which is which.

President Xi Jinping flexes China’s military muscles

China’s military has the “confidence and capability” to bolster the country’s rise into a world power, President Xi Jinping said yesterday as he oversaw a large military parade of fighting prowess.

Live state television broadcasts showed Mr Xi, dressed in fatigues and speaking from an open-top jeep, telling his troops that China needed a strong military “more than ever” as it moved “closer to the goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation”.

Mr Xi, who commands the People’s Liberation Army as chairman of the Central Military Commission, has frequently spoken of his “China Dream” to restore China to a leadership position in international affairs with a modern, far-reaching military force to match.

Mr Xi inspected troops, armoured vehicles and conventional and nuclear missiles, hailing each formation by shouting “Comrades, you’ve worked hard!”

The parade at the Zhurihe military training base in China’s Inner Mongolia region marked the 90th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army’s founding. It was the first time a parade has been held to mark the occasion.

Long criticised as a corrupt bureaucracy with scant combat experience, the PLA has undergone reforms and an ambitious modernisation program to make it a leaner force capable of projecting power overseas.

Hundreds of thousands of troops have been cut from the world’s largest standing army while the PLA has invested heavily in aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines and stealth fighters with the goal of surpassing the US in regional and even global influence.

Although China has framed its growing military as a force for stability and peace, its expanding footprint and assertive posture in contested regions such as the South China Sea has worried neighbouring nations.

Domestically, Mr Xi has taken steps to enhance his control over the PLA, just as he has over every other political power base within the sprawling Communist Party. Despite the military establishment’s clout, he has not shied from ordering anti-corruption campaigns that took down top-ranking generals and creating new battle theatres that placed trusted officers in command and shunted aside others.

To reinforce his political position, Mr Xi has extracted televised vows of loyalty from top generals while holding frequent events to show his affinity and support for the military, including a troop inspection in Hong Kong in June and a ceremony to present citations to 10 officers last week.

Mr Xi again issued a demand for loyalty yesterday, instructing his amassed troops to “unswervingly stick to the fundamental principle and system of the party’s absolute leadership over the army”. “Always listen to and follow the party’s orders,” he said. “And march to wherever the party points to.”
