I did some digging.

Apparently, the company that made the paratrooper's equipment (which was still in testing) is Huntec, or "润泽金松". They are apparently a major supplier of equipment to the PLA and is also seeking to sell its products to other countries as well.

It seems as if the company's employees are eager for the PLA to get itself into a conflict after witnessing Russian special forces operate in Syria. :)

Interesting program about China military reform. Armed forces is more than flashy jet, tank etc. More important is the command and control, organization, integration, logistic etc
China military reform will address shortcoming in all those area
And make it more lean and mean machine

A LHD or two will greatly help with international disaster relief operations.

I am pretty much the first time the Liaoning will be operationally deployed will be during a humanitarian disaster relief op.

The J15 pilots will have to stay at home, but the carrier should be good to go at short notice for such a mission.

It will be a great opportunity to test the ship and crew for intensive operations in real world situations without the downsides of people shooting at you; had politics or bad blood from bombing and killing people. It will also generate a lot of goodwill.
